Developing web processes in LINC? Most LINC forms were designed for internal heavy data entry and are not suitable for web users. That does not mean new ISPEC layouts can ’t be developed in a simple and specific manner. The benefit is immediate integration of the new process with the existing application plus a single source of maintenance and testing. As the front-end process evolves, it remains synchronized with the host application.

· Forms are generated directly from the LCIF LINC specification and are painted from the LDA GUI layout. (WYPIWYG)

· IB is designed to help those who are not knowledgeable in developing web forms. The developer can paint and maintain their forms in LDA GUI painter (of IB can generate GUI LDA forms)

· New simplified processes can be developed and maintained in LINC and integrated immediately with the existing application.

· CSS Style Sheets can be used. The IEGCSS.HTM file is generated by IB and assigns CLASSes to each Face Name, Size, F-Color and B-Color combination. Changes can be made to the style sheet html and the change is immediately applied to all forms referencing that CLASS name.

· Environmental scripts (Global.asa, iegglb.inc, glblib.js, datatoratl.asp) are all generated from a list of user specified options.

· Local scripts are generated based on LINC attributes found by IB in the LCIF model file.

· Customized scripts can be generated after the user identifies selected “*.dataname” or “ispec.dataname” items and selecting from a list of predefined scripts such as navigational fields.

· For experienced HTML/ASP/VB/JAVA developers, IB templates are accessible and modifiable.

· For JAVA developers, user defined templates to generate field level data manipulation or editing scripts.
